About the Author Thomas R. Baechle, EdD, CSCS,*D; NSCA-CPT,*D, is the executive director of the National Strength personal fitness training and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certification Commission. He is the cofounder personal fitness training and past president of NSCA personal fitness training and its former director of education. In 1985 he was named the NSCA’s Strength personal fitness training and Conditioning Professional of the Year.
